Have you ever wondered why something bad ever happened in a person's life? It is because he plays the role of the victim instead of becoming conscious and becoming a Creator. Skip Downing describes both a creator and a victim in a well thought out piece. A victim is a person who blames everyone for all the bad things that happen in his life. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes, they try to find a way out. A creator is a good and wholehearted person who brings new life into all situations. They try to think of the most positive outcome. A victim and a creator have two different mindsets and different characteristics that make them who they are (Downing). My son's father, Derrick, plays the role of the victim. He blames everyone else for why he can't succeed in life. He says “you broke up with me, so all this stuff will make me give up.” He always wants someone to jump when he says "jump". He says “I did it for you, why can't you do it for me”. He asks me to spend time with him and if I say no he gets angry. He complains that he can't do this or that. He says he can't buy diapers for the baby because no job wants to hire him. He makes you feel guilty for what he did to hurt you. He says “I only did it because you did it first.” He's always asking for a ride to different places. He asks for money just so he can do something that prevents him from finding a job. He is a very inconsiderate person, he will wait until the last minute to do something. Like if I was at work he could have taken care of his business but instead he waited until I went to take care of my business and at that time we had no one to look after our son. Grandma Blunt is a creator because she speaks new life into you with her words. ...... middle of the card ...... set of a creator, I know in my heart that I will move forward in my life with many successes. I want to be able to provide a better life for myself and my son. I want to teach my son that he can do anything he wants if he puts his mind to it. Skip Downing defines creators and victims in a very well thought out piece. It defines the creator as someone who is in control of their own destiny. It defines the victim as someone who uses many excuses for why they cannot succeed. It is possible to be a creator, a person must change his point of view on all situations and find the best outcome. It takes a lot of stress on a person's shoulders when they know for sure that they are in control of their destiny. Are you the creator or the victim? Works Cited Downing, Skip.
