More and more money is poured into schools for sports than for academics, and Americans are paying the price. In the United States, schools designed for learning have morphed into more of a place to meet and do activities rather than actually learning. Our generation and our country are now more worried about the next great athlete in the news than the kid who excels in many different school subjects. Instead, our school districts should keep school for what it really is: school. School is used to teach children many different subjects, however many children are losing interest and are going to school simply to get by and continue participating in the sport that means the most to them. Many schools like high schools should step up and want this for their children. The United States must realize that we are going in a bad direction if education is not given enough attention need to stop because people have their values more oriented towards a competitive game and not what can change the future. Coming generations will have to take advantage of new technology and continue to expand what has already been done, so other countries who are taking the time to educate their students, they don't let us by and
