Rizie AldanaProfessor ArcherEnglish 2102 March 2014The Goths and ImmigrationThese people, "the Goths", are said to have come from southern Scandinavia, crossed the southern shore of the Baltic Sea and then they emigrated to the Black Sea in search of a permanent home ("Goth." Britannica Concise Encyclopedia). However, they couldn't find a place to call home. They searched high and low for comfort and peace, and in their search they were discriminated against and victimized, until they fought back and became the oppressors. Situations where many people of one culture have immigrated to a different country because they too cannot find a place to call home and/or do not want their children to grow up in certain circumstances have been repeated throughout history and persecution and intimidation against these immigrants still occurs today. The Goths were trying to escape from the persecution of the Huns.
