Drunk driving is one of the very dangerous things in a driver's life. Drivers working with a high blood alcohol concentration, also known as (BAC), usually expressed as a percentage of blood ethanol made up of alcohol per volume of blood or alternatively mass of alcohol per mass of blood. These drivers present a dramatic increase in high-risk traffic crashes, vehicle fatalities, and highway hazards. Drinking under the influence commonly known as DUI simply refers to operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. This is not limited to alcohol content but covers other medications which include, but are not limited to, prescription medications. This leads to the driver losing coordination, experiencing double vision, brief blackouts, and having slurred speech. Driving while intoxicated causes brain damage which leads the person to feel they can handle a situation just as they have always handled it before. This is always the result of poor reasoning and judgment which leaves one vulnerable to the deadly effects of drunk driving. Drunk driving is caused by several factors. Even then it is important to know that these factors are preventable. One of the causes of drunk driving is a failure to understand one's limits. Considering that alcohol is a depressant, drinking beer, wine, or any liquor slows down a person's reaction time and judgment. It becomes very difficult for someone to realize their point of drunkenness due to the feeling of relaxation and sweetness.
