My Health Topic is about stress. let's start by explaining what stress is, stress is our body's mental and physical response to and adoption of perceived changes and challenges in our life. This is the book's definition, but I really liked what they gave online, it was simple and got to the point. Stress is the pressure or tension exerted on a material object. Very simple and straight to the point. So the reason I chose this topic is because I'm terrible at dealing with stress and dealing with it. I hope that if I knew more about stress, I would be able to understand it, and also learn how to deal with it, without letting it intrude on my life and living. So, the more I looked into stress, I found that stress had more than one topic. This is the other one I found out of five, Eustress which is a positive stress. This stress helps you improve yourself and can improve your health. The other one I found was Distress and it is a negative stress, usually happens due to the death of someone close to you, a relationship breakup and financial problems. The fourth stress is acute stress. Acute stress occurs when you are under pressure about what will happen in the near future, even about the past. The last type of stress is chronic stress, most likely the worst one that can lead to health problems. Chronic stress is the response to emotional pressure experienced over a prolonged period over which an individual perceives they have no control. I found the definition of chronic stress online because it explained it much better than the book. The one in the book was that it can persist indefinitely and wreak havoc on your body system. So now that I know about stress and other types of stress, I wanted to know if I can change stress. The book stated that st...... middle of paper ...... has meaning in my life and I really put a lot of effort into what I do. Another thing that improved was my grades, improvement in tests and remembering many things, so intellectual health improved and I made better choices rather than going home doing nothing. The last dimension is very hard to fit in, but environmental health just got better because I cared a lot more about my environment, I started cleaning up after myself because it stressed me out having a messy environment, so to not stress myself out just clean everything. As you can see, stress management can improve all six dimensions. I feel managing stress can help your health a lot, lower your blood pressure, strengthen your immune system if you learn to manage the right kind of stress. Managing stress is an important fact in my life and should be an important fact in your life.
