There were many political scandals in the 1920s, which was very unpleasant. For example, the Teapot Dome was the biggest political scandal. Teapot Dome was an oil field owned by the US Navy. Many people wanted to utilize this valuable source of oil. The two companies gave permission to use it and did not make a considerable offer for the use of the fields; therefore the Senate began to investigate. Surprisingly, they discovered that Albert B. Fall, Harding's Secretary of the Interior, received bribes from both trading companies to justify oil development. Finally, during the investigation, contraband liquor was also found in the offices of Harding's associates. Another example was the scandals involving President Harding. He has had four relationships with four different women. Harding was also accused of participating in drunken orgies and of being a member of the Klu Klux Klan.
