Changing the drinking age will only cause more accidents and more deaths. The drinking age is one of the most scrutinized laws in the United States. It has certainly reduced levels of drunk driving, underage drinking and excessive alcohol consumption. I believe drinking at a young age impacts the brain. I say this because research has shown that the brain is not fully developed until the age of 21 or 22. First of all, lowering the drinking age below 21 will only contribute to younger teenagers consuming alcohol as well. Now that the drinking age is 21, teenagers around 19 and 18 are still drinking alcohol. Lowering the age limit to 18 would only lead to younger teenagers getting drunk. When I was 18 I discovered alcohol because I had 21 year old friends. If I had been 18, I would have been exposed to drinking at 15. This would have led to more accidents a...
