Topic > Percy Jackson's Curse of the Titans by Rick Riordan - 778

Percy Jackson is a half-blood son of Poseidon. He has long shaggy hair with blue eyes and very pale skin. He wears a blue jacket with his trusty pen/sword in his pocket. He is a seeking type of person, always looking for an adventure with his friends Grover, Annabeth, and Thalia. He is a very nice and non-self-centered person. He always tries to help someone, like when Annabeth "died", he said "Annabeth no, I don't want you to die" (26). He speaks normally like a normal person, but he has dyslexia, so he has difficulty reading, such as "I would read the word dog as swamp" (23). He interacts very well with the other characters except Zoe Nightshade. When she comes into the story he says "oh great you" but everyone else he's friends with. For example, when they are at Hoover Dam, Percy said, “I have to go to the snack bar at the dam and everyone burst out laughing except Zoe (p 208). He is a good character and is friends with all his friends in the book. The conflict occurred when Percy discovered that Doctor Thorn was still alive. Doctor Thorn attacked Percy and his friends when they went to pick up Grover, Percy's friend who is half goat. The rising action happened while they were on their way to the Hoover Dam and find a manatee that has the power to destroy the entire world. The climax happened when they went to San Francisco and found Annabeth's father and he told them to go to the top of the mountain. the action of the fall was the battle in which Percy supported the weight of the sky. The resolution was when they went to Olympus and told the gods about all this and how the Titan army is reacting. “You have done good Percy Jackson” (p 310). Another thing that happened is that they found out that Bianca and Nico are children of Hades.“Sea”(p 1) Denoted...... middle of paper ......I would like this book even more if it had multiple POVs. it goes from Grovers to Percy to Annabeth and Thilia. At the beginning of the book, the author had Percy go to school. Percy meets Bianca and Nico at school and they later help Percy and his friends a lot. They later discover that Bianca and Nico are children of Hades. The author had them meet Dr. Thorn so that Annabeth and Dr. Thorn would fall off the cliff. The author had Percy's horse arrive so he could fly him to Washington state to find out that Luke and Doctor Thorn are still alive. “Percy, said Grover, you shouldn't be here, I said Luke, trying to catch my breath, he's here” (p 110). Then the author had them go to San Francisco so they could fight on top of the mountain where Zoe died. I think the author did a good job putting the story together.
