American culture has been littered with commercials over the past few decades. It doesn't matter if you are watching television or reading a magazine, you will surely come across some advertisement promoting a product that you supposedly need to make your life easier. James Twitchell even goes on to state that “The culture we live in is based on advertising” (Twitchell). Some commercials try to win you over with sappy songs and sad images, while others take a route that will create good feelings and laughter that will keep you thinking about their product all day. Fathead, a company that sells huge, realistic posters of athletes and other famous figures, takes the latter approach to selling its product. Their new commercial "Clay Matthews, Handyman" uses many popular techniques to persuade viewers to buy a fattie. Fathead uses many different persuasion styles, but the three that stand out the most are the use of a friendly setting, comedic charm, and powerful testimony. The commercials always seem to be set in an environment that most viewers can see for themselves....
