Gentrification is the process of rebuilding an urban place or redeveloping an originally dirty area. It involves the displacement of lower-class individuals by relatively wealthy people. The act of dispersing the lower class from an area they have lived in for years by the upper class creates a struggle. Upper-class individuals take the place of lower-class inhabitants after the move. After the displacement of lower class people, property values, rental prices and taxes are pushed up. This pushes out low-income people and forces them to leave due to high and unaffordable costs
