The mysteries of love, hate and compassion are all part of marriage. The mysteries of the heart are felt in the story The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin (Clugston, 2010, sec 2.1). This story draws you in with the suspense of Mrs. Mallard's heart condition and the idea of her husband's death. When you first start reading this story you feel a feeling of sympathy for Mrs. Mallard who suffers from a heart problem. As a reader, you get sadness within you knowing that the revelation of her husband's death could harm her in some way, only to find out that love is not that simple and maybe it was the news that her husband was alive that killed her. In this story the narrator focuses on how Mrs. Mallard deals with the death of her husband. The plot defines to the reader what happens in a story by how she reacts to the news that her husband has just been killed in a train accident. Looking deeper into this story, the theme shows its underlying feelings, demonstrating the feeling behind the story by almost showing relief and freedom, through the use of different symbols and tones. On the surface you see details such as the phrase “She didn't hear the story because many women heard the same thing” (Clugston, 2010, section 2.1). This sentence sets a tone of sadness and questions why she took the news so differently than many other women. When you read this story for the first time, the character of an elderly woman comes to mind, only to find it again in an important passage: "She was young, with a beautiful and calm face, whose features revealed repression and even a certain strength ( Clugston, 2010, sec 2.1).This passage finally gives the reader a detailed idea of the woman in this story and establishes her as a younger woman rather than an older woman. .. live this experience. All readers will read and interpret this story in their own way based on their life and their knowledge of marriage. One thing that is indisputable is the emotions that go through all people and the power that marriage has on these inspirations . In life, love can renew a spirit as well as kill a person's passion.
