Ludwig Van Beethoven was considered one of the greatest musical composers of the 19th century. Beethoven's compositions are considered a watershed moment in the history of Western music. According to scholar Scott G. Burnham, "The extraordinary coherence perceived in Beethoven's music became a commanding measure of the greatness of musical works of art." Part of Beethoven's greatness can be linked to the inner turmoil he had to deal with his entire life. Part of this turmoil was caused by his hearing disability which ultimately resulted in his deafness. Beethoven felt isolated due to his illness, but this isolation greatly influenced the music he composed. The Fifth Symphony was a testimony to this. Of Beethoven's nine different symphonies, the Fifth Symphony is considered one of his greatest compositions. The Fifth Symphony consists of a total of 4 movements and has a four-note opening motif in C minor which is considered destiny knocking at the door. Beethoven was born on December 17, 1770 in Bann, Germany. From a young age Beethoven was interested in music because he came from three generations of musicians. He received instruction from his father on the piano and violin. One of his first concerts was in front of his father's peers against his will. Beethoven had a fiery character and was a bit introverted during his school years. Beethoven went to school until the age of ten. At the time his family's finances prevented his family from affording the education he needed. In July 1787, Beethoven's life was further disrupted by the death of his mother. Despite Beethoven's misfortune, he still managed to achieve enormous successes while in Vienna. Its success can be attributed to the fact that it created a relationship... at the center of the card... movement. The most dramatic are the French horn and violin, which display dynamics ranging from loud and deep to soft and quiet. The pace of the composition is fast throughout the first movement. The First movement of the Fifth Symphony starts quickly from the exposition, it would be too fast for people to dance to. One unique thing about the First movement is the 3+1 rhythm. The “short-short-short-long rhythmic motif” of Beethoven's forum helps create the momentum for the transition from the exposition phase to the development phase of the First Movement. The First Movement of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony relies heavily on C minor to create the harmony needed to make the Sonata sound complete. Lewis Kingwood explains that Beethoven's ability to seamlessly transition from minor key to minor key helps make his Fifth Symphonic Movement sound as if it were just one fluid composition..
