Topic > Starting a new chapter - 1339

“Every story has an end, but in life every end is a new beginning” - Anonymous I thought my life was that of a perfect painting, or maybe even a work of art Impeccable art. Then like a flash, on a cold and rainy November day, it disappeared, disintegrating before my eyes. I never thought that day would come, until my life turned into a complete nightmare. A nightmare without turning points, which seemed like it would never end well. I felt like I was trapped in this ferocious cyclone of terror, anguish and fear, which wouldn't let me escape. Until that nightmare turned out to be the best thing that happened. A dream that became my reality. And fear became my greatest strength. Calgary, Alberta April 27, 2014, 6:26 pm I've always wondered: why am I the person I am today? Would my life have been different if I hadn't taken this opportunity to open a new chapter? These thoughts ran through my mind as I sat in my bed, curled up like an armadillo. The fireplace crackled with joy as I sipped my warm, rich hot chocolate. The Chinook winds blew immensely, rattling the window glass, throwing open its white-tinted doors, letting in the cold, cutting breeze. I gasped, spilling my hot drink onto the pink satin sheets. A wave of wind came swirling like a tornado and swept over the shelf. “THUD,” the sound fell like a hard, flat rock, sending my heart racing. I launched like a rocket on takeoff, laboriously trying to close the hard-hitting doors. I lost my balance on the stool and fell, causing the books on the shelf to fall on me. I lay there uncomfortably, struggling to get up. I could feel a sharp edge poking the side of my hip as I reached for that prickly, ...... middle of paper ... ged sensation, but I'm grateful for it. If I hadn't changed schools or states, where would I be now? I haven't forgotten everything that happened to me in the past; It still sticks in my mind. I learned to overcome my fear of change and how change can be a great thing if you learn to accept it. We all face situations, circumstances and events in our lives that are not of our liking, choice or understanding. That's the beauty of life: you live and you learn. Every day is a new day to move forward. I realized that when the rain comes there are only two things you can do. You can hide under the umbrella, run indoors and let it ruin your day or you can look on the bright side of things and jump in puddles. “Every corner you turn or every street you walk down, a new experience awaits you. You just have to see the opportunity and be adventurous enough to take it.
