Microsoft had a rocky start at first, but later began to expand and specialize. Microsoft had soon hit the million-dollar profit mark, and all it needed was a creative IT company to pull it off. Microsoft started collaborating with IBM (a computer hardware company) and they developed a role defining technology. Bill Gates and IBM had one thing in common: they wanted everyone in America to have at least one computer per household and that was their goal. They were marketing tons of money at this point. The collaboration between him and Paul Allen soon ended because Allen was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. Their partnership has played a huge role in technology everywhere. At the age of 23, Gates found himself at the head of Microsoft. Microsoft is famous for its operating system and good deals. A few years later, in 1983, Microsoft formally announced Microsoft Windows, the next generation operating system.
