This document will make no sense; it is written only to practice APA formatting for various references and to practice various in-text citations. I can say that it will be boring to write this article; therefore, it will probably be boring to read. Even so, it's still good practice for future reference. The first type of references I use in this article are two academic journals. I go online to find two random academic journals to do this. In the African Journal of Business Ethics, Ogunyemi (2013) begins his paper with the quote: “Ethical reasoning is the process of arriving at moral judgments.” I have no idea what else Ogunyemi will write next. However, another random academic journal states: “This article is about a robust and effective explanation and prediction of nsSNP-induced pathology” (Basit, Wechsler, 2013). I don't know what the pathology induced by nsSNP is, but it is probably important to the authors. The books are widely used and that means I need to know how to cite them in APA format. The book closest to me is the book we were assigned in class, They Say, I Say: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing, so I'll mention it. The first sentences in the book's preface state: Experienced writing instructors have long recognized that writing well means entering into conversation with others. Academic writing, in particular, invites writers not simply to express their own ideas, but to do so in response to what others have said. The first-year writing program at our university, according to its mission statement… (Birkenstein, Graff, Durst, 2012). I decided to show a different style of referencing in the text with this reference example.
