INTRODUCTION Globalization can be loosely defined as the process of communication and assimilation between people, companies and governments of different nations, a process driven by trade and by international investment and aided by information technology (Smith and Doyle). Globalization involves the distribution of ideas, practices and technologies, and as a result, a new type of capitalism, known as knowledge capitalism, has emerged thanks to productivity and competitiveness. Knowledge capitalism is the drive to create new ideas and transform them into profitable products and services desired by customers (Oduori) Impact of globalization in the hospitality industry in Kenya and the subsequent impact on human resources in the United States The phenomenon of globalization has contributed significantly to the spread of tourists to the most remote ends of the planet, including Kenya. This has inherently led to the rise of new technologies in the hospitality industry, along with the improvement of tourism facilities and services to meet international standards (Gachoka). Improvements in transportation and communications have essentially facilitated the growth and movement of international tourists with information technology. revolutionizing in particular the organization and functioning of tourism businesses (Oduori). Most international and regional agencies, airlines, hotels and many travel associations now have their own websites aimed at promoting tourism around the world (Mpofu). Globalization has a major impact on human resource management in developing countries, including Kenya. leading to changes in the organizational plan and organizational structures making them leaner thus improving efficiency but with an unconstructive impact on s...... middle of paper ...... ts and acceptable quality standards. In the short term, they can save money and improve profits, while in the long term; outsourced ingenuity gradually erodes their ability to create new products and services (Gachoka). Foreign or younger workers cannot replace the contribution of older workers in terms of institutional appeal, long-term associations and practical creativity.
