Autism is a complex condition that lacks an established prevention method, so research is needed to identify its possible causal factors. The identification of environmental factors is the first step to prevent and mitigate risks through primary prevention. [1] Statistical estimates show that 1 in 88 individuals in the United States are diagnosed with autism. The condition can be defined as a chronic neurodevelopmental disorder that becomes prevalent in an individual during early childhood. As a result, autism leads the patient to live a life marked by the continuous challenge of its negative effects on communication and interaction with others. The disorder is debilitating for the patient and extremely challenging for his or her family.
