When you ask yourself about Hawaii, what's the first thing that comes to mind? The term paradise plays an important role in describing the state of Hawaii; Furthermore, many are captivated by its promising beauty and various attractions. The state of Hawaii is made up of eight main islands and they are Hawaii Island, O'ahu, Maui, Kaua'i, Moloka'i, Lana'i, Ni'ihau, and Kaho'olawe. The number of visitors received by the state in the year 2007 totaled 7,627,819, showing an increase over time (2007 Annual Visitor Research Report). The island of Maui alone welcomes an astonishing 2,580,361 million visitors annually (2007 Annual Visitor Research Report). However, as the number increased, each of the islands in the state of Hawaii underwent various changes and innovations. Maui, for example, has undergone several developments such as the construction of more hotels and the opening of various forests to the public, and as a result, such development attracts more visitors. Therefore, it can be concluded that the island is truly extraordinary and a wonderful destination to visit or settle in. Despite tourism's wonderful cause for the island's economy, what would happen if all its admirable beauty suddenly disappeared? Well, the resident and the island itself will experience a great depression. Therefore, developing more regulations to preserve coastlines, forests, and oceans would enhance Maui's natural beauty and support a stable economy.
