Strategic planning is critical to the success of all business operations. Analyzing current trends in technology, consumer markets, competition, and the workforce can play a critical role in determining whether or not your organization can survive. Over time, strategic planning strategies must be modified to compensate for changes in the industry. Goals and strategic planning often require changes to ensure the organization is operating at the highest levels, while offering the most cost-effective and quality services to consumers. Case Study Community South Medical Center, a large, for-profit urban health center, is equipped to address many global health issues. Although the medical center has an excellent reputation, the analysis showed that it now lacks clinical staff, non-interface technologies, aging infrastructure, decreasing JCAHO compliance, and fluctuating demographics. Additionally, many of the high-paying local businesses have left the area. This could be due to competition issues or since the demographics have changed, they no longer had the consumer advantage for the services offered. If Community South Medical Center doesn't want to follow the lead of other local businesses, they need to revisit the strategic plan they put in place three years ago to implement strategic performance. According to Edmunds (2006), “The goal of a strategic plan is to find ways to capture more and more of the market. And most importantly, you need to act on the strategies you come up with” (http://www.usatoday.com/money/smallbusiness/columnist/edmunds/2006-06-28-strategic-plan-yourself_x.htm). It is the CEO's duty to address the issues plaguing the......middle level of the card......peak level by offering quality services, strategic planning must be implemented to understand where the necessary changes are needed .ReferencesBuchbinder, SB, Shanks.
