In another world I could find a way to not wear a shirt in certain situations. Even if it's not against the law, people in our society will still ask you to wear a shirt. I walked around Burns Hall in my Nike fleece jacket but no shirt. Most people asked me where my shirt was, others asked me to put it on. Some girls didn't care that I wasn't wearing a shirt. Later that evening I want Papa John's and met my friends, Christina and Brianna. Christina looked at my shirtless torso and asked me to come back into the room and put on a shirt. Brianna on the other hand didn't care as much as some of these other girls. She even went as far as pinching my abs repeatedly, which made me think, what some consider norms differs between individuals. Mass media greatly influences the way our generation views certain aspects of our lives. There are many commercials showing shirtless guys. It's not a big deal as long as a woman isn't shown half-dressed. With exposure to the ads, which include shirtless men sometimes with no pants or just briefs, fathers become more concerned that their daughters are more susceptible to naughty behavior. Most fathers are overly protective of their daughters, which is completely understandable, but the media doesn't help worried fathers
