Recently the UAE has seen development in all fields, including healthcare where it has sought to reach the highest levels of the healthcare system. Despite new government reforms and medical service providers in the UAE, the healthcare system still faces the biggest challenges. This essay includes some of the challenges that I think are important and need to be attended to. There has recently been an increase in rates of heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Where these diseases accounted for 31% of the total number of deaths and the prevalence of diabetes in the UAE also exceeded 20%, heart disease ranked as the second leading cause of death (Boos Allen Hamilton, n.d.). This is due to the lifestyle in the UAE society. Even though life is constantly changing, the amount of food and volume of effort a person puts in each day do not change much. The spread of bad health habits such as smoking also causes a type of cancer. In fact, every smoker knew that cigarettes could cause lung cancer and some companies wrote this information on cigarette packages but did not stop smoking. So, this is due to people's poor health habits. Development has increased opportunities for the spread of these diseases rather than decreased them. The population in the UAE is constantly increasing, so more and more people, less doctors and there is a need for more hospitals. The current population is 8 454 167 people at this time (countrymeters.info). The country needs more hospitals and doctors to cater to this number of inhabitants. In fact, the government tries to graduate a large number of doctors because with development the population increases more and more. As we saw in our college in 2013, there are… half as many documents submitted by expats, lack of trust and high costs. In my opinion, if people in society help the government to reduce these challenges, the government will control these challenges. Works Cited Boos Allen Hamilton, (n.d.)
