Who else is to blame for your personal problems? Two New York girls sued McDonald's because they claimed the food made them overweight. A representative of the fast food chain argued that McDonald's food could not be linked to the girls' obesity and was, in fact, healthy and nutritious. The result was Spurlock's 2004 documentary, "Super Size Me," in which Spurlock embarked on a thirty-day diet consisting exclusively of McDonald's food. At the end of the thirty days Spurlock concluded that McDonald's food was anything but healthy and nutritious. He had gained 25 pounds and was suffering from a number of serious health problems related to obesity. McDonald's has been widely blamed as one of the causes of obesity. This proves that it is only your fault and no one else's that you are obese. Nobody made him eat McDonald's. A person's weight is sometimes attributed to genetics. Genes are important in determining a person's susceptibility to weight gain and energy balance. Overeating is an addiction that only one person can stop. Lazy people might say that diet or exercise worked or cured obesity. How do you know if you don't see what it's like? Mood disorders are another cause of obesity. I'm simply saying that when you feel a certain way you tend to overeat more than usual. There is no justification for criticizing the food. Ultimately a person can only blame themselves for their food
