The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit association of 1,281 institutions, conferences, organizations, and individuals that organizes the athletic programs of many colleges and universities in the United States. Should athletes remain unpaid as they have for over 100 years? In recent years, one of the most challenging issues in today's sports world has become one that the NCAA cannot afford to ignore. As described in (Source A), "The NCAA is a multi-billion dollar industry that has generated over $845 million in recent years due to the ability of its players to entertain and perform at their peak at all times." Why don't they pay athletes if they generate that amount of money or the NACC are exploited college athletes? College students should be paid, because they put themselves at the same physical risk as professional athletes involved in any particular sport. College student athletes suffer the same injuries as professional players, but college athletes do not have a permanent guarantee in the event of a physical arrest....
