The global music industry's revenue has been cut by 50% over the last 20 years, due to piracy, illegal file sharing, legal downloading such as the iTunes service and streaming (McDoling, 2015). Overall, the Internet could be the biggest problem for the music industry, if the music business didn't know how to deal with it. P2P is part of the problem, as it has caused a sharp decline in music sales. However, it appears the music industry has scored a big victory in the United States over file sharing. Comparing the number of IP address accounts targeted in 43,124 ISP lawsuits in 2010 to 6700 IPs in 2015, we conclude a notable decrease in music piracy (A, 2016). The current cooperation between the music industry and new music streaming services (Spotify) that enable legal and affordable access to copyrighted music heralds a new music business
