Topic > The Pros and Cons of Online Education - 1029

One of the things that attracts many students to online school is the fact that they can pursue their studies at their own pace, whether they work odd hours or perhaps take classes at 8 is more doable or they work faster than most people and online school gives them the option to move fast or slow as they learn instead of staying at the pace their class is set at. Learning at a personal pace is actually more beneficial to students—according to a Department of Education study conducted in 2009, students in online courses scored slightly higher on exams and, on average, did better than traditional students . Another positive aspect of online school is that it is more convenient than traditional school. For traditional education the student has to wake up and physically go to school, whereas a student in online school can log on to their laptop and do school in their pajamas and it wouldn't matter because they are alone. So online school from a comfort point of view definitely wins, hands down
