Each of them takes a distinct position on the issue because they research and convey it in different ways. As for language, the social science article, “The Impact of Smartphones on Society,” and the natural science article, “The Effect of Carpal Tunnel Changes on Smartphone Users,” are both full of passive voice. Alternatively, the humanities article, “Using Smartphones to Supplement Reading in the Classroom,” is written in the active voice with little to no passive voice. The writing style shows quite similar comparisons to the use of language within the articles. “The Impact of Smartphones on Society” and “The Effect of Carpal Tunnel Changes on Smartphone Users” are both articulately written while “The Effect of Carpal Tunnel Changes on Smartphone Users” is slightly more formal. “Using Smartphones to Supplement Classroom Reading,” on the other hand, is much more readable than the other two sources we expect from humanities writings
