Topic > Interdependence Liberalism on Sino-American Relations

IntroductionSino-American trade relations become a major concern as it shows the economic interaction between the world's largest economy and the second largest economy. After China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001, there was a sharp increase in economic performance. Therefore, Sino-US trade relations from 2001 to 2011 will be explored in the following sections. Overall, Sino-US relations are peaceful in terms of interdependence liberalism. In terms of Marxism, this is an asymmetric relationship. Application of Interdependence Liberalism in Sino-American Trade Relations Interdependence Liberalism Karrbo and Ray (2010) define liberalism as “a theoretical perspective that emphasizes interdependence between states and substate actors as the key feature of the international system” ( p.6). International affairs are applied with a strong faith in reason and rational principles (Toru, 2013). Long-term cooperation is preferable due to mutual interest (Toru, 2013). For interdependence liberalism, interdependence is believed to reduce conflict between states. During the modernization process, the level of interdependence increases. Trade increases interdependence between states, and economic interdependence leads to political integration and peace (Toru, 2013). The costs of using force increased and the benefit decreased as military force became a less useful political tool (Toru, 2013). States are more concerned with economic and social affairs. They work together to achieve some goal. Economic dependence among international actors is mainly reflected in the volume of trade between actors, in the number of foreign investments, in imports and exports representing the percentage of GDP, in net capital flows between......half of paper... ...of the salary. Workers must work under military management. They suffer from high blood pressure. Therefore, more than 20 workers have committed suicide in recent years (SACOM, 2011). From the above-mentioned evidence, it emerges that Sino-US trade relations are asymmetric. China cannot earn sensible returns under the US-led global capitalist system. Upward mobility is reduced, which limits China's development. Conclusion To conclude, Sino-American relations are peaceful. But the world capitalist system creates a center-periphery relationship that causes the United States to be at the highest level while China is at the lowest level. China is unable to deal with it. This causes conflicts between China and the United States. However, given the prevailing global trend of pursuing peace, both China and the United States will do their best to deal with economic conflicts through soft means. China's status will improve in the future.
