Today, competition between communications companies is beneficial for markets and customers. Apple and Samsung companies are a good example of this competition. The competition between them gave customers two types of smartphones, which are called iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3. The iPhone 5 is a series of iPhone mobile phones, manufactured by the Apple Company in California, United States. Galaxy S3 is also a series of Galaxy mobile phones, produced by Samsung Company in Korea according to Wikipedai (March 3013). Teenagers and some adults usually use these types of phones. Why do they like the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3? First, these smartphones have features that attract their attention, such as Internet use and gaming. Secondly, they have some apps for people who spend a lot of their time chatting and texting. Third, these mobile phone companies produce many applications, for example, some applications stimulate and encourage children and adults to learn; new language, another culture, mathematics and so on. Additionally, there are some programs for professionals and experts. These are some reasons that make people interested in using them. Each of these cell phones has some features that the other does not have, but there are also some similarities that they share. The differences between them lie in software, battery, screen size, processor and weight, but on the other hand there are similarities such as price, data speed, memory and rear camera. mentioned before, these types of smartphones have some differences, such as software. Nowadays, smartphones are similar to laptops; they must have an operating system to run on. The iPhone 5 has IOS operation...... mid-card...... it's better than the Galaxy S3 with the experience I've had using both. My experiences were in the written form and some engineering applications. For example, my native language is Arabic, so I want to write and read messages in Arabic, but the shape of each letter is difficult to read on the Galaxy S3. The other reason is that I am an engineer and I am interested in some professional applications which I didn't find in Galaxy S3, but I found them in iPhone 5 such as MATLAB and Solid work. For these reasons I prefer using the iPhone 5 over the Galaxy S3. However, that doesn't mean the iPhone 5 is better than the Galaxy S3. Furthermore, there are many people around the world who prefer using Galaxy S3 over iPhone 5. Since Apple and Samsung are two of the strongest communication companies, I think the competition between them will continue for a long time.
