World War I, also known as World War I and (before 1939) the Great War, the War of the Nations and the War to End All Wars, was a global conflict which lasted from August 1914 to the final armistice (cessation of hostilities) on 11 November 1918. The Allied Powers (led by the British Empire and France and, after 1917, by the United States) defeated the Central Powers (led by 'German Empire, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire), and led to the collapse of four empires and a radical change in the map of Europe. In this report I will tell you how it all began, the participants in the war, the advantages and disadvantages of the war, the political and military strategies and leaders. On 28 June 1914 Franz Ferdinand, Archduke of Austria and heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, was assassinated in Sarajevo in a plot involving Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian Serb student. Gavrilo Princip was part of a group of fifteen attackers, who were acting with some support from the Serbian government. Although World War I was triggered by the chain of events unleashed by this assassination, the origins of the war are deeper and involve national politics, cultures, economics and a network of alliances and counterbalances that were established between European powers during the 19th century, following the war. final defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1815 and subsequent Congress of Vienna.Ok now who was fighting in the war. There were two main alliances, the Axis and the Allies. Originally founded on the concept of the Rome-Berlin axis (the Pact of Steel), which later became the Tripartite Pact, the Axis was not primarily a formal alliance. Each of the major countries entered the war in their own way (Nazi Germany in 1939, Italy in 1940, and Japan again in 1937... middle of paper... fire on October 3, 1918. When Kaiser Wilhelm II ordered to the German High Seas Fleet to defend themselves from the Entente fleets, the sailors mutinied in Wilhelmshaven, starting on October 30, the Ottoman Empire fell. On November 3, Austria-Hungary sent a flag of truce to the Italian commander to request an armistice and peace conditions. The terms, agreed telegraphically with the Entente authorities in Paris, were communicated to the Austrian commander, and the Treaty of Versailles was finally signed on 20 June 1919. World War I was a bloody and painful battle and many good and bad things came from it. This was my report on World War I. I talked about how it all started, about the participants in the war, the advantages and disadvantages of the war, the strategies and political and military leaders. And this concludes the account of the First World War, the "Great War".."
