Mr. Welle observed not only me, but also how the students paid attention to me and noticed that they were very engaged until the last five minutes or so. I hardly had to redirect directions to the class as I walked and helped and each student successfully built their own box within an hour. The real proof that they had put it together correctly came when we unloaded the oven to find that everyone's pieces had been put together correctly and none of them exploded in the oven. As I reflected on the demonstration, right after the students got to work, I realized what was really important to mention to them and what wasn't necessary at that moment. As I walked around, I realized how brilliant the students are and that, for most of them, my demo could have been even more simplified so they could have even more time with the box.
