Introduction Norms are part of everyday life. Without rules the world would be in total chaos. Norms by definition are rules of behavior shared by members of a society and rooted in the system of values. ( ) Norms are held to be of a high standard in a society and are valued by its members. The rules vary from company to company. What is considered normal in one society may not be acceptable in another society. Norms are a way of life of society: if a member of society breaks that norm, he or she may be considered strange or even penalized depending on the type of norm that is broken. The rules are divided into three categories: popular customs, customs and laws. Folk customs are customs or desirable behaviors that are not strictly enforced. Violating a folk tradition is not a crime, but violating a folk tradition might make you look strange. Customs are the strongest form of norms and have great moral significance in a society.
