An advantage of having a margin of control is that there are more chances of earning a promotion in your job, however their long lines of communication and messages may be missed. M&S has many different functional areas such as finance, marketing, customer service, sales and human resources. Functional areas will work collaboratively with each other to achieve an end result, for example the marketing team will work alongside the finance department when creating advertisements for M&S. The marketing team will choreograph the ad while the finance team will find a solution to finance the ad, so it is vital that departments work together for an efficient and effective approach.
