Topic > Flying into the Unknown: A Character Building Moment

I believe there are character building moments in everyone's life. Moments that stimulate every part of the person, which require an entire destination of one's vital energies to that specific moment of time in which they arise. Coincidentally, I recently experienced one of those moments, one of which I am proud to announce. However, I feel it is necessary to provide an overview of my struggle before discussing its fruits. I started working at a very young age, covering the role that my father chose to abandon. My first jobs were horrible, I worked in construction with family friends on the weekends, only making $40 a day for my low level of production. Those jobs were tiring and I don't miss them, but there's something nice about sitting down after a long day at work, in worn clothes, with hands throbbing with exhaustion, and eating a hot meal. Things fall into perspective. Things appear simple. Poverty doesn't seem to be that bad. The recession hit and the economy took a turn for the worse, hence my part-time weekend job in construction.
