Benjamin Franklin was a man of many facets, thanks to his unexpected achievements, his progress in many areas of his life, and his faith that many adapted to. Born into a large family with ten children, Franklin was not expected to become the star that he was. His father was a soap manufacturer, and his family thought Franklin would join the clergy. (Ben Franklin The Electric Franklin 1) Franklin's expectations make his successes that much more impactful due to his ability to be a leader from a young age and represent America as a powerful nation. Through the printing press Franklin was able to support himself for the rest of his life, which led him to address his curiosities through discovery and invention. (Benjamin Franklin1) Benjamin Franklin influenced America through his achievements as an outspoken publisher and writer, an innovative scientist and inventor, and a superior political figure. From a young age, Benjamin Franklin was more academically advanced than others, which allowed him to be so successful through printing early on. Franklin never remembers not being able to read, which allowed him to not have to attend school and to be able to start working when he was only twelve years old. He saw a problem in society, big or small, and found a solution. His most notable discovery is that of electricity, and the invention of lightning is the result of that discovery. Always looking for ways to help people, Franklin also furthered America's future by making the nation independent. He signed very important treaties and documents, all extremely beneficial to America. Franklin's leadership role influenced the entire country. Benjamin Franklin will always be remembered as a man of great impact throughout America. His drive and ambition through his publications, inventions and political attributions influenced this country, making it strong and independent.
