Oppression came into play when I babysat my younger siblings and used my sense of power to control them in unfair ways such as: locking them in the closet, using the dog to scare them, and not feed them. Looking back I'm not proud of what I did because it showed a lack of maturity but a strong sense of power. Abuse of power can lead to corruption and even overthrow of the government by the people. This is a concept I chose to deviate from due to the amount of emotional distress it caused and demonstrated how narrow-minded I was
