IntroductionI am writing an assessment to understand why an induction process is necessary to ensure the new member works safely and efficiently as soon as they start. I will ask new members of the Organization to find their reaction and results of the current induction process. Also looking at how workplace coaching can help new and existing employees improve their skills and learn how to perform new skills. I will develop a plan to onboard new employees into a team and also coach existing employees to upskill. The onboarding process must be effective for new employees and this process should be well known by the person who ensures the execution of this procedure. They need to know why the onboarding process exists, how it is done and what support the new employee has from the organization. My aim will be to look at my current organization Romec Ltd and ask new employees how they found the process and whether it was followed to the end. There will be Appendices with examples of my organization's procedures. How to integrate new members into the team The induction process could be as simple as receiving a welcome pack explaining the company rules and procedures and then displaying it in the workplace, but it depends on the job itself as to which process would be best suited. This will involve familiarity with how email and communications systems work within the company. The benefits of a proper induction into the profession can involve creating clear foundations and expectations between the employee and the company. A proper onboarding process ensures that the new employee feels they have made the right choice in the workplace and ensures that the company has a higher retention rate of new employees. This is where the appraisal is key and should be filled in honestly so that these points are captured in HR and addressed so that they do not happen again (Appendices 2). Support from the organization is needed to ensure that new employees do not feel alone and that there is always someone designated they can talk to at any time about anything. Coaching is essential as it builds confidence in employees and brings out their skills that they already have but are afraid to use. Setting a plan gives the employee a goal and motivates them to achieve it since they can see what they need to do to achieve it. Feedback is necessary to show where they are going wrong, but inserting it in the good points to make them feel comfortable and maintain trust. It allows the employee to think about making changes themselves and not feel pressured to change something they did wrong.
