Chapter Two: The Literature ReviewIntroductionArt is not a new idea in education. For the purposes of this article, the sources used found methods in which Arts integration benefited students through increased understanding of the material, student responsiveness, and student satisfaction with their class (to make your article concrete, give a list of them here AuthorA, 2004 AuthorB, 2010, AuthorC, 2009 ). In this literature review, the researcher will answer the questions posed in the introductory chapter and examine current studies on the topic of arts inclusion in schools. Several academic articles were consulted for the purposes of this action research project and all articles show support for arts inclusion in elementary schools. The Ontario Ministry of Education has made the arts a mandatory component of the school curriculum, and the emphasis has led to a variety of programs in schools run primarily by teachers, such as choirs, drama clubs, and dance groups. In this action research project, the researcher will include research support from other experts in the field of education, especially arts education, as well as the steps to successfully integrate into a school context. The research questions addressed in the first chapter will be further developed in this chapter to explain the reasoning and basis for the researcher's choice of this topic. Research Questions The research questions introduced in the last chapter reflect concerns that may arise when attempting to establish an integrated arts program in schools. Where not all schools and teachers are set up for an arts program and some teachers may lack training...... half of paper ......nment (Jensen, 2008). Conclusion Overall, the literature consulted in this section shows a shift towards integrating the arts into schools. Individual schools and teachers who integrated the arts took different approaches, but arrived at similar results in how the arts improved their students' overall learning. In the next section, Chapter Three: The Methodology, the researcher will further establish the connection of action research to this work and the purpose and benefits of its use in a school setting. Where action research is an ongoing process in education, this study of action research will continue after the conclusion of this body of written work as themes and techniques in arts education may change frequently and techniques need to be adapted to the students that the teacher has that year since they are variable.
