The foundation upon which all its principles are laid was that our fundamental law originated in God; however, Skousen's argument in support of this fundamental premise is futile. He needlessly cited individuals who will be recognized as authorities to form a convincing argument; however, he failed to prove his view that the U.S. Constitution is founded solely on biblical law. Although emphasized frequently throughout the book, the Constitution never implied that the existence of a Creator is necessary for the freedom of a group of people. Skousen never acknowledged to readers that Mormon theology is the source of many of his ideas, although his depiction of America is primarily dominated by his devout Mormonism. Many fallacious quotes have been used in this book to support Skousen's views. These quotes were blindly accepted due to the name attached without proper understanding of the context of the quote. It seemed that Skousen often misinterpreted his sources on purpose to authenticate his argument, often without adequate justification or a well-reasoned argument. Ultimately the public was misled into believing flimsy claims with unproven conclusions; Skousen achieved this by arguing for axioms that will be widely accepted and by jumping to the conclusions we arrived at
