“Teen Suicide”IntroductionTeenagers all over the world have millions of suicidal thoughts running through their minds. Even if they have a happy childhood when they grow up and become teenagers, they can become suicidal (Berman, 2006). There are several factors that contribute to a teenager believing that suicide is the only solution. Depression, bullying, lack of attention from parents are just some of the many causes that lead to the suicide of a teenager. In the United States, suicide is the third leading cause of death among adolescents between the ages of 15 and 24 (Gould, 2004). Studies have shown that having a gun in the home contributes significantly to suicide. Many other causes can involve psychological problems such as depression, bipolar disorder, alcohol and drug abuse, feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, lack of support (parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, etc.). Suicide also varies between boys and girls. Suicidal thinking is more common in girls, but the methods they use are less effective such as drug abuse or cutting, unlike boys who use more powerful and efficient methods such as guns, hanging or jumping from a high place ( Achilles, 2004). Whether you think a person is happy or not, we still need to pay attention to signs of suicide or strange behaviors that show that he or she is having suicidal thoughts (Beautrais, 2008). It is not difficult to know if someone wants to commit suicide and here I will mention some of the main clues to know if someone wants to commit suicide, preventions and treatments.DevelopmentAs I said before, suicide is caused by mental problems. The main one is depression and loneliness. Many parents may think it's just a silly problem that will go away as their kids get older and... middle of the paper... it doesn't need to be fixed as soon as possible. As soon as the answers are given, contact a shark in the topic who can really help you in case of an emergency of any kind. And finally let him know that you are there to stay and lend a hand if needed. Young people will feel more protected and cheerful if they know they have someone to lean on. Convincing them to change their lifestyle and improve the quality of their life will certainly be useful in guiding someone on the right path. Suicide is not the only solution and we need to make suicidal teenagers think about this idea and change their lives.
