Topic > What do organizational leaders do? - 1797

Companies and organizations have senior executives who take on more than their top management roles by being organizational leaders for their companies. Organizational leaders work to shape companies into positive images they envision for companies by serving as role models and using positive behaviors and characteristics that will help achieve organizational goals. Leadership styles vary from manager to manager, and many of the best leaders have their own unique style that they use to inspire others to do their best in whatever role the company needs them to do. Not all managers or executives are effective leaders, and some senior executives may have a leadership style that actually has a negative impact on the company. For the company to be profitable and excel, unsuccessful leadership styles should not be tolerated. The COO, or Chief Operating Officer, of the organization I work for has a very charismatic presence. He is the type of leader who made employees want to excel in performing their duties for the company. His leadership style is a mixture of directive and participative leadership. Directive leadership is a leadership style in which the leader lets employees know exactly what is expected of them, provides them with specific guidelines for performing tasks, plans work, sets performance standards, and ensures that people follow standard rules and regulations. The COO raised employee awareness of the company's goals and expectations by publishing monthly newsletters outlining these points. With these goals in mind, employees are more willing to excel to help achieve these outcomes for the company. Participative leadership is a leadership style in which the leader consults employees for their suggestions... middle of paper... who are trying to enter the global market because it gives employees practice in dealing with other cultures and gives the company the possibility to expand and grow. In conclusion, there are many factors that contribute to the success of a successful organization and leader. An organizational leader must be able to guide their company toward achieving goals that may seem challenging but will be substantial in expanding business opportunities. Employees are influenced by the actions taken by their organization's leaders, and the best leaders are able to positively push their employees towards success to improve themselves and their organization. Not all executives are meant to be leaders, but executives should always look for ways to improve their leadership styles and strive to have a positive impact on their subordinates and their companies..
