Hank walked out every time and Charlie had no control. Hank would cause trouble in town. Charlie would be there for a second and then Hank would come out and cause major problems. An example of this would be when Charlie and another character were out to eat. One second it was Charlie being all quiet and nice and then Hank appeared. Hank made very rude comments to the waiter who was very surprised by what he said. The waiter reacted and ended up in a fight in the restaurant. Hank ended up getting kicked out of the restaurant. Once he regained Charlie's personality, he was unable to remember anything of what happened. He was shocked when he was told what happened and what he said. Charlie didn't believe he was the one who said these things. No memory of events that occurred is a clear symptom of DID. Because Charlie was unable to remember some events, he was eventually fired from the police station. His boss said he was a liability.
