“Keep moving the ball and dump it into Hakeem.” – Rudy Tomjanovich Sounds pretty easy, right. Wrong. Although Hakeem Olajuwon was one of the most dominant centers the NBA has ever seen, the defense usually didn't allow him to get into the paint easily. Or at least try not to. The offense used by Coach Tomjanovich during the Houston Rockets' back-to-back championships relied heavily on Hakeem's post skills and his outside shooters' ability to knock down wide open looks. This type of attack is known as a 4-Out, 1-In Motion attack and is probably one of the easiest attacks a team can use. The concept of the offense is to move the ball and the defense and end up getting the easiest shot possible. This system requires good outside shooters and at least one decent post player. The decision on which sets to use depends on the skills of the team's players and the type of defensive set used by the other team.
