Topic > Pursuing Graduate Studies in USA - 1036

You can always rely on studies of matter at the atomic scale to discover unique and unusual things. Given the way materials act under certain conditions, many times it seems that one of these characteristics determines the other, without explanation. It is this volatility and excitement that has solidified my continued passion in this field and in my life's endeavors. It is the curiosity for the unexpected, the search for a greater understanding of our world on an atomic scale and in a dynamic environment, that leads me to pursue graduate studies in the United States. My parents say I have always been a curious girl. Throughout my childhood I played with all kinds of science toys and tried to understand how things work. My superlative performance in school has earned me several national-level awards in India. By the end of my early studies, I had developed a keen interest in science and decided to work in it and choose it as a career. I was fascinated by one of my university subjects, Physics. I took several fundamental physics courses and my overall grades in my undergraduate studies were excellent. This preparation led me to pass the 'National Graduate-ship of Physics' exam during my university studies in India. To further deepen my knowledge of physics, I enrolled at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU), for a Master's degree specializing in solid state physics. At MSU I lived independently and took several specialized physics courses. I found theoretical solid state physics and experimental condensed matter physics the most exciting as they continually piqued my interest. The theory inspired me to study this topic more deeply and made me familiar with its modern concepts.......middle of paper......very old. I wish to pursue my research on condensed matter physics in the United States, as this would be an amazing opportunity to receive a sound education under the guidance of eminent scientists and experts, with access to the best equipment and facilities. I have fully prepared myself to continue working and facing all the challenges that experimental scientific research can bring and I am confident that my research interests and skills will allow me to successfully complete a PhD. degree as a great experimental physicist. I believe that communication with experienced professors in your program, along with my skills, hard work, and enthusiasm, will allow me to achieve my goals and continue our broader understanding of the world around us. I understand that competitive research requires complete dedication and commitment and exceptional performance and I am confident that I will exceed all expectations.
