Raising a child can be a difficult situation for any working mother and father, but it is an even more difficult task when there is only one parent to take on this mission. I applaud all the parents who juggle and multitask to provide balance and nourishment for their children, but I still have to remain objective. I can say that I speak with awareness, having friends and family who face this challenge alone. Being a parent has made me realize that there is no one plan that works for everyone, but there certainly is a desired outcome; children who become caring, independent and productive members of society. Through my observations, I have come to the conclusion that single mothers spoil their children with unearned gifts, give their children too much freedom, and let their children get away with bad behavior.
