The cacophonous side effects obtained from smoking cigarettes shorten the lifespan of people who smoke cigarettes. On the one hand, smoking cigarettes contains disconcerting chemicals, powerful enough to destroy your stress level; however, the huge amount of additional toxins to the average cigarette causes cancerous cells within the smoker's body. Smoking cigarettes can bring an abundant amount of causes and effects to a smoker and deteriorates the immune system of the ordinary smoker. Peer pressure transpires one of the main causes that can influence a person to start smoking. “Peer pressure is the main reason why most teenagers adopt the hateful habit of smoking (Buzzle, 2011).” Teenagers have the feeling that if they see their friends smoking a cigarette, then they will be forced to smoke one too. “Teenagers are not the only age group that is influenced to smoke by peer pressure; even adults are induced to smoke (Buzzle, 2011).” It is much more difficult to force adults to smoke because their level of self-confidence is higher than that of teenagers. There are so many other factors that lead someone to take up the disgusting habit of smoking. Stressful situations often force people to inhale the harmful chemicals found in cigarettes. “The chemical nicotine relieves higher levels of stress (Buzzle, 2011).” Stress attacks a person's brain and convinces a person to try anything that can help crumble the stress. “The average chronic smoker will tell you that smoking a cigarette completely eliminates stress levels from their body (Johnson, 2011).” In reality, smoking does not decrease your stress level; chemicals corrupt your thought process.
