To be successful in this world you need a college degree. This has been drilled into the heads of most if not all students during their school days. The pressure to succeed will drive most people to earn a college degree. Some students attend college for the love of learning and others for the desire to succeed. In the essay “What is College for?” Gary Gutting states: “Our support for higher education only makes sense if we consider this intellectual culture essential to our society.” If we do not consider learning and knowledge as a necessity, pursuing a university career is useless. From an early age, my grandmother instilled in me the importance of knowledge.
