Nuclear weapons are a problem that the world is facing today as countries want to have their own for different reasons and this threatens the security and stability of the our world. First it was North Korea and now Iran. As the world seeks to decrease its possession of nuclear weapons, these countries are building them out of a sense of power or use in the future. Whatever the reason, the great intimidation it causes is worrying and must be stopped. During the Cold War, nuclear-armed countries meant that they would think rationally and not start a war because they knew the reality they were dealing with. weapons of mass destruction. Today the situation is different. Some countries are more powerful and there is a lot of hatred while there is war. Iran's hatred for Israel is extreme and known throughout the world. Having nuclear weapons could give them the ability to use them against their enemy Israel and wipe it out. This is a big threat to Israel and its ally, the United States, which is also concerned. Therefore, I think it is better not to have nuclear weapons that cause panic and paranoia. An organization called the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) is the one that ensures the peaceful development of nuclear weapons globally. This encourages countries to create these weapons as there are no harsh sanctions against them. As influential as the United States is, it has so far not done much towards Iran and North Korea in this regard and is against the development of nuclear weapons. However, the US contradicts itself by selling uranium to India. If there were greater consequences, the possibility of this development could decrease. The United States is trying to reduce its possession of nuclear weapons, and others are developing their own. The United States currently possesses 10,000 nuclear weapons while in 1965 it possessed approximately 32,500. If there's one thing I agree with them on, it's this. Building nuclear weapons is expensive and since they won't be used, I see no reason to keep having them and adding more. Mining uranium, a resource used to create nuclear weapons, also results in the formation of nuclear waste. This waste is very dangerous as it remains radioactive for hundreds of years. Everyone knows quite well how effective they are not to use them, but one day someone
