Leadership is defined as 'the process in which an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal'. The goal is achieved through cooperation, communication and cohesive behavior. A leader is someone who champions their cause and takes responsibility, but can also motivate others to do the same. Effective leaders use themes, mottos, and symbols to inspire those around them to stay focused and complete all necessary tasks. Diagnosis. Effective leaders should have the ability to identify problems and should be able to determine what needs to be fixed to improve their ability to achieve their goals. They can identify problems through questioning and problem solving and can coordinate action plans. After diagnosing a problem, effective leaders also discover ways to minimize, evade, or eliminate it. Communicate. Communication is the foundation of effective leadership.
