The inability to resist the habit of tyranny was found in the apartheid regime that was able to arise in South Africa, “with its explicit policy of promoting white supremacy” (Cooper 2002 , 1). As a result of this institution, non-white Africans were forced to live separately and in poor conditions by the all-white government for years.
