A girder bridge wouldn't even be a suitable option because they can typically only span distances under 200 feet, and connecting many girder bridges together wouldn't work either, because longships would have trouble fitting between the piers. Finally, a cable-stayed bridge would not be as sufficient, because the distance between the towers will be shorter, making it less convenient for huge ships to navigate between the towers.
